ARTIST: ALEKE KANONU MEETS TOLBERT THE MIRACLE MAN

RECORD: Vinyl is overall Near Mint/Excellent EXCEPT there are two small areas on "Nwanne" side which have touch perceptible marks - kind of like stylus got bounced around there. I played it and did not notice anything with casual listening. If you listen closely there are a few seconds of pops - it's during a percussive break so my uneducated ear had a hard time picking it up. My turntable is decent, but not super sensitive or high end, so it may navigate rough spots better than some.

From web : "Aleke Kanonu is a percussionist from Nigeria and O.C. Tolbert is a great soul singer known for his album  "Damn Sam the Miracle Man and the Soul Congregation". "Happiness" is an uptown style Gospel ballad, and the B-side is an Afrobeat disco tune in the style of the fantastic Aleke's album entitled "Aleke". The producer "Jack Taylor" ran his own label "Rojac Records" from 1979 till' 1984 where he has also recorded other soul tracks for Tolbert. However, this 12inch was released on his other label "Rojec Records" - a spelling error?"

Great record - rarely comes up for sale.

The full length Aleke Kanou LP is being re-released next month, so there will likely be even more interest in this single.
