original canadian pressing - "Shuckin'-N'-Jivin' " is one of the great lost soul-jazz rare-groove masterpieces. Recorded in 1972, it's a fantastic collection of 1970's funk. The songs for this album were taken from a series of live performances at Seattle’s Trojan Horse Restaurant in 1970. The Johnny Lewis Quartet delivers dirty organ and clavinet solos, choppy rhythm guitar, massive percussion breakdowns and the hottest horn solos this side of Maceo Parker.
