Description

1969 saw the sad death of 1 of jamaicas finest trombonists don drummond. The other,Rico, as if he wasnt busy enough already, teamed up with visiting producer Bunny lee to cut Reco in Reggae land, subtitled "paying  tribute to Don Drummond".This was evidently a carefully planned release, for Bunny Lee had recorded the rhythm tracks in Jamaica and brought them to London for Rico to add his trombone leads. Its not a complete set of covers of Drummond tunes, though "peanut vendor"and "green island" were part of the Dons repetoire with the Skatalites.Other tracks include a cover of stevie wonders 1966 hit,Place in the sun, plus a clutch of originals. This is a feast of music from reggaes premier trombone man.  The cover of the album is laminated and slightly worn as you can see,but the vinyl plays perfect and is practically mint! It is in its original mono form ,and is listed at £60 in record collecter. This is not a reissue!!!  4 of the tunes track listing on the back cover are crossed.x
