cleaned on VPI. 1966 live recording from buenos aires with a serious band of gypsies, johnny dyani, louis moholo & enrico rava. bob thompson cover art. mild wear bottom front cover (see photo) otherwise sleeve is pristine. typical but clean ESP pressing, one mark causes intermittent ticks final 40 seconds of side-B (mostly during applause from the audience). a stone classic lacy record, feminine marvelous & tough.
this record comes from the first of two jazz collections comprised almost entirely of '50s & '60s original mono pressings & promotional copies to be auctioned by farmeralfalfa here on ebay over the next six months. the collections will list approximately fifty records at a time, organized by label &/or sub-genre. many atlantic, columbia, prestige, riverside & (eventually) blue note titles. if this sounds like your thing add farmeralfalfa to your favorite seller list. this week's focus is impulse & ESP with some additional associated titles.
