Description

Delta blues compilation titled "Bothered All The Time" and released through the combined efforts of the Southern Culture Records, Rooster Blues, and the University of Mississippi. All of the tracks were recorded by field researcher and archivist William Ferris throughout the 60's. The LP is FACTORY-SEALED, and within the context of sealed LP's, this one is in mint condition with no bends or discoloration and nary a compressed corner! It features multiple, previously-unreleased (in 1983) tracks by Lovey Williams, Sonny Boy Williams, Louis Dotson, Arthur Lee Williams, Parchman Work Gang, James "Son" Thomas, Lee Kizart, Southland Hummerbirds, Jasper Love, Gussie Tobe, Wash Herron and Big Jack Johnson, and an Anonymous performer. Also featured are liner notes and an interview conducted by William Ferris. Memphis, TN's long-running Center for Southern Folklore owned the imprint Southern Culture Records, and all of that was run by the famous Delta blues/rural culture documentarions, Judy Peiser and Warren Steel. They had a P&D deal with Rooster Blues. Many grants from various foundations also helped this LP to see the light of day in 1983. Scarce, it rarely pops up on eBay, and won't for some time. Even more uncommon is the availability of a factory-sealed copy.
