Description
Here is a set of TWELVE shellac 78 rpm singles in book type album from my collection offered up for sale: A Jazz legend and trailblazer revered by all who came after, Chick Webb, the drummer and orchestra leader who overcame overwhelming challenges including great physical impairment to lead the Swing era with a jumping style orchestra like no other. Art Blakey, Duke Ellington and Gene Krupa all credited Webb for influencing their music. Webb introduced a teenage Ella Fitzgerald as vocalist who took over as orchestra leader after Webb's tragic early death in 1940. These are those recordings made from 1934 to 1942 pressed on Decca records and in fantastically preserved condition. Records rate mostly EX, super clean and glossy, they don't come much better than this! (see record list for individual record gradings) have been PLAY TESTED! each plays excellent from start to finish! minimal surface noise. The vintage book type jacket is clean. The binder and a few of the inner sleeves have had some repairs with tape.
