1959 First year pressing of Uk Decca SXL 2179 Beethoven
Piano concerto No.5 in E flat major, op.73 ("Emperor")
from Wilhelm Backhaus Piano, with the VPO & Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt Conductor. The definitive 50's stereo reading of this early stereo gem.
curved cut flipback sleeve. Labels are ED1 with original recording by.. at ten o clock, with the wide silver band and ffss circle at 12 O' clock. Curved cut Flipback sleeve has the1st type ffss Arm Ad & large curved stereophonic logo, and the pristine original company ffss inner is present. This is near mint with no marks to the playing surfaces or labels, has clean labels and the sleeve is Mint minus. Flips are unmarked, no pen or excess dirt, no splits or bends. Low 2E2E stampers.
