Description

Great historic western recording from 1929. Billie Maxwell was indeed the first female country western singer. She was from a ranch in Arizona and had a band that travelled and played mostly traditional cowboy songs and some of her own. She was advised to go to a Victor Records field recording session in El Paso Texas where they recorded her by herself with only guitar and fiddle. See this link: http://www.amoeba.com/blog/2009/03/eric-s-blog/billie-maxwell-the-cow-girl-singer.html. Visually grades more VG with general wear from years of storage without a sleeve, and audibly sounds between VG and VG+ with good sound still above the high crackle. Noise on this stronger at the beginning then quickly gets better. Only serious issue is it has a repeating groove at very end of side 1 during the music - no missing vocals. About 8 grooves before end of side. Side 2 plays thru fine. Overall sounds very good. No cracks, chips or serious scratches. Examine the pictures for label condition. Ask questions before bidding. I grade as follows:
NM = Just this side of mint. 
E = Excellent. Virtually no trace of groove wear with only
minimal traces of use and handling.
E- = A shiny great looking record with a slight degree of groove wear,
but not enough to seriously detract from its audio quality.
VG+ = Obvious play wear, but still very enjoyable. Has some shine with minor surface scuffs and scratches. Noticeable
graying in the grooves. Light surface noise or crackle.
VG = Well worn, but listenable. Expect the surface
noise to be significant. There may be some stressed grooves.
V- = Been played hard. Played with the right equipment, however, you may still
derive a certain degree of pleasure from a record in this condition.
Poor = self explanatory.

These are play graded of a vintage Voice of Music record player with a 78 stylus and without filtering. I pack and ship 78 records in a new sleeve, poly bagged, sandwiched between 6 pcs corrugated cardboard, wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a new 12 x 6 x 12 box with peanuts and mailed Media Mail in the USA.
