Almanac Singers "Songs for John Doe" 3-78-rpm Set from 1941.
Rare first recording by the Almanac Singers in their original line-up (Pete Seeger, Millard Lampell, Josh White and Sam Gary). This album was actually released by Keynote records, though the owner insisted that, because of its controversial nature (it was critical of corporations and the Roosevelt administration during a time of war), it be paid for by the performers and released under their own pseudonymous label, Almanac Records. A fantastic piece of leftist, communist American history. THE OUTER COVER HAS NO TEARS OR WRITING. GRAPHICS ARE NICE. THE 78s HAVE BEEN PLAY TESTED AND SOUND GREAT. THE RECORDS HAVE LIGHT MARKS AND SPINDLE MARKS. THE THIRD RECORD DOES HAVE A SLIGHT WARP THAT DOES NOT EFFECT PLAY. GREAT 78 RARITY WITH NO RESERVE. PAYPAL ACCEPTED.
