Description

Almanac Singers - Songs for John Doe

Rare first recording by the Almanac Singers in their original line-up (Pete Seeger, Millard Lampell, Josh White and Sam Gary). This album was actually released by Keynote records, though the owner insisted that, because of its controversial nature (it was critical of corporations and the Roosevelt administration during a time of war), it be paid for by the performers and released under their own pseudonymous label, Almanac Records. A fantastic piece of leftist, communist American history! Complete with 3 78 records
 - overall I would say the records are in very nice condition one of them has two visible scratches but doesn't look very deep - they need a good cleaning - I am a collector of advertising signs so I really have no idea how to properly grade these records so I will not attempt to do so - along with this record album I have recently purchased a number of other similar records that I will be posting in the near future -
