All vinyl records are visually graded strictly by the Goldmine Standard, unless stated they have been play tested! Typically I will only play test if there are scratches or other flaws that may questionably cause skipping. However, I will play test any record, or records upon request, as long as it is within reason!
To help simplify descriptions, if there are any marks deep enough to feel on the records playing surface, or anything considered damage (not wear) to the labels, inner sleeves or covers, then those are the only exceptions that will be mentioned! Otherwise, whatever overall grade they are given does fit into the criteria for that grade within Goldmine's grading scale. All parts of records are graded individually
As opinions of sound quality of certain grades can vary more widely, often far from being realistic (most below New condition are going to have surface noise to different extents), and there are many contradictory opinions across this marketplace, it is suggested you request play testing. Most records I offer for sale are used, they are old, even microscopic particles of dust have a way of getting into the record's grooves when they've been sitting in their cover for decades. I do not have any gadgets to give records a thorough deep cleaning, they are cleaned by hand. So even a record that appears NM may have some faint audible surface noise, and this will progressively become more noticeable the lower the grade. Additional deeper cleaning may improve sound quality more!
Goldmine's grading system is and has been the industry standard for grading vinyl records for decades now. If you do not have a copy on hand of one of Goldmine's guidebooks to use as a reference, then this can be viewed on their website by searching the web for "Goldmine Grading".

Mint (M), only used with sealed records and never guaranteed Near Mint or Mint Minus (NM or M-) Very Good Plus Plus or Excellent Plus (VG++ or E+) Very Good Plus or Excellent (VG+ or E) Very Good (VG) Good Plus or Very Good Minus (G+ or VG-) Good (G) Poor or Fair (P or F)
