After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. This auction is for a rare, original stereo copy of the Beatles LP 'Oldies but Goldies' on the yellow / black Parlophone label.
Oldies but Goldies was the first Beatles compilation LP. It was the result of the Beatles having a two album a year contract with Parlophone and only just finishing Revolver in August. To keep with the deal George Martin created this album, a collection of songs that hadn't featured on an album before, top hits, and the inclusion of 'Bad Boy', a song unreleased before then in the UK, previously being an American exclusive track
Stereo LPs of the Beatles albums before 1967 are harder to find than their mono counterparts because stereo record players cost more than mono players back in the day, and stereo records cost more than mono. Therefore, more mono copies sold than stereo. It wasn't until '67, when these two factors were done away with, that mono instantly became an obsolete format.

The cover is looking pretty good for its age, and is showing the usual wear you'd see on an album of this age. the front cover still has a lovely colour to it and a little browning down the spine edge. There's some laminate creasing, moastly around the edges. The top and bottom seams are holding tight with no wear or splits. The spine has browned a little and has some little laminate creases, but is fully legible and unworn and unsplit. The back cover still has a good colour to it but has a little light disc impression (most noticeable at the mouthedge) and light browning. Overall, though, the cover is looking pretty good! Disc : VG

The playing surface has a pretty good shine to it and has a fair amount of light, faint surface scuffing. There's a little, slightly heavier looking scuffing on side 2, but overall the disc is looking okay.

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright, silver text and no writing, stickers etc. There's a little, faint spindlewear and a touch of whitening around each centrehole. The side 2 label has a little white residue on the labels. The photo above has really highlighted this album it's much less intrusive in person. Overall, great labels!

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
