Description

BEATLES Please Please Me Gold/Black First Press 1963 LP

Original black & gold label debut 1963 Parlophone LP from the Beatles. Original mono record with side 1 matrix: XEX 421 - 1N & side 2 matrix number: XEX 422 - 1N Record housed in early 60s style Parlophone flip back sleeve manufactured by Ernest J. Day & Co. Photo on front cover is credited to Angus McBean in very small print on the bottom right hand corner of cover. Record label has Dick James publishing credit for Please Please Me, I Saw her Standing There, Misery & Do You Want To Know A Secret.

Item shows clear signs of pre owner ship but still plays without any jumps and skips and for the main sounds great.. I've listened to both sides through so can comment fully on the sound quality and report that it is still a great player without any serious problems. I will outline in detail the condition of the cover and then record. Cover has a tear on the reverse, light discoloration and signs of age. For the most part, the record plays very well. Record centers show some sign of use but no signs of over-play. The majority of the problems with the record are found on the first three tracks of side one. There are some very deep scratches which play with clear background noise but absolutely no jumping or skipping. The rest of side one and all of side two play with occasional crackle but absolutely no serious marks. Probably best as a collection filler but still plays well.
