Description

BEATLES UK, White Album, 1969 UK 2nd issue, stereo numbered mis press with photo spacer.

1969 PCS 7067/7068, UK Apple record labels.

An original UK 1969 second issue in original condition, featuring:

1. it is possible to trace the production history of these hard to find ‘UK second issue’ copies of the White Album due to the numbering of the sleeves. The number of the sleeves begun at about 100,000 and seem to go up to just over 130,000, so it would appear that just over 30,000 of these second issues sleeves/albums were made during the early autumn of 1969,

2. after the first issue UK White Albums, these second issue copies featured:

a. a seven digit serial number on the front of the sleeve,

b. a ‘side loading’ stereo sleeve, there were to be no monos,

c. text on the record labels, ‘Sold in UK’, etc was removed,

d. the publishing credits on the record labels for the George Harrison and Ringo Starr tracks still appeared as ‘Apple Publishing’.

This particular copy features:

1. a very high numbered sleeve, being 0133266,

2. a mis pressed record label on side three, as part of the publishing credit has been mis spelt as ‘Northerin’, it should of course have read ‘Northern’,

3. record labels one and three have a ‘lighter green’ apple colour and all four record labels have a ‘matt’ finish,

4. comes with its original ‘paper spacer’ for the photographs.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near MINT condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The near MINT laminate has an incredible fresh glossy glass like finish to it and amazingly is free from much ‘scuffing’ and any ‘indentations’, the laminate has been remarkable well preserved. The spine is in near MINT condition, it has remained a fresh white and all the text is crystal clear to read and amazingly theres not even the usual ‘flaky’ laminate on the spine, suggesting how little the sleeve has been handled. The four opening edges of the sleeve are in near MINT condition and have remained razor sharp and clean. The corners of the sleeve have remained sharp. On the front it has embossed, ‘The Beatles’ and a unique individual seven digit serial number of: 0133266. When the sleeve is opened, it has remained a super glossy, MINT condition. There are NO tears, pen writing, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are in excellent condition and are the original period white, ‘Apple copyright’ inner sleeves. One sleeve has two clean opening edges and is relatively crease free. It has NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. It does have a small ‘nick’ to the front opening edge and a small ‘nick’ to the rear opening edge and a split to one of the side edges. The other sleeve also has two clean opening edges and is relatively crease free. It has NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. It does have a slight split to one of the side edges and a split to the bottom edge.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in near MINT condition. It has remained a fresh, clean white and relatively crease free. The poster is made of a more unusual heavier grade of paper. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, creasing, pin holes, sellotape or ‘blue-tac’ residue. There are some light age related ‘spots’ here and there.

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in MINT condition. Made from thick glossy paper, the photos have retained their brilliant white borders and white rears. There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, pin holes, sellotape or ‘blue-tac’ residue. The photos come with their original ‘paper spacer’, this is in near MINT condition.

THE RECORDS: record one, sides one and two are in MINT condition, their condition have been graded under normal daylight conditions. Record two, side three is in excellent++ condition. Side four is in near MINT condition, its condition has been graded under normal daylight conditions. The two records are made of the original period 1960s ‘thick heavy’ vinyl. The records have remained very dark and glossy and have remained like new / almost like new.

The matrix is: YEX 709 - 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 – 1 and YEX 712 - 1.

The mother/stampers are: ‘4 H M’, ‘2 R D G’, ‘1 G H R’ and ‘5 G H O’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, each side plays with excellent quiet grooves. The audio plays with a full clear, period stereo sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one, three and four are in MINT condition with NO signs of any spindle trails. Side two is in near MINT condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
