BEATLES UK – White Album, low numbered original stereo sleeve.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first top loading sleeve, Stereo copy with an unusually low individual serial number of ‘No. 0255538’, featuring,

1. in general these very first UK issue stereo top loading sleeves started to appear round about the number 0300000, so this particular stereo sleeve has an unusually low number, being No 0255538,

2. side one of the record has an early ‘mother / stamper’, being: ‘1 GOL’,

3. side four of the record label has the unusual ‘tax code’ letters ‘KT’ embossed around the spindle hole.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has an excellent glossy laminate and has remained relativity free from any ‘scuffs’ or indentations. The sleeve has retained its four excellent sharp opening edges. The sleeve has remained an excellent glossy clean, fresh, white in colour. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL number of No. 0255538, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear there is a small printed ‘Stereo’ logo, proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve, this is also printed clear and bold. The spine is in very good+ condition and most of the text is clear to read. When the gatefold sleeve is opened it is very clean with an excellent glossy laminate. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the original Apple black inner sleeves and have not been replaced. The first sleeve is in excellent condition for its age, it has two clean opening edges, with NO splits or tears. The second sleeve is in very good condition, it has a slight split to one of the side edges, the front opening edge has three tears, 10, 5 and 5mm and a small piece missing. The back edge has some ‘fraying’ and a small area of paper loss, and four, 10mm tears and some small ‘nicks’. There are NO repairs, sellotape, residue etc. 

THE POSTER: the original poster is in excellent condition. For its age it has remained a good clean, solid poster. Theres NO pen writing, sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stains, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue. There are some light age related marks here and there. 

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in near excellent condition. Theres NO pen writing, pin hole damage, sellotape / residue, blue tack residue, tears, stickers or sticker residue. Each of the corners of the photos are clean and sharp, the rears of the photos are clean, fresh and white in colour.

THE RECORDS: sides one and two are in near excellent condition, if it was not for some light isolated ‘marks’ here and there the record would be graded a lot higher. Side three is in near MINT condition (when viewed under normal daylight conditions). Side four is in excellent+ condition. The records are made of the original 1960s, original ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The records have retained their original excellent dark and glossy appearance and do not appeared to have been played that much.

The matrix are: YEX 709 – 1, YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and YEX 712 - 1.

The mother / stampers are: early ‘1  G O L  ’, ‘ 3 A A’, ‘ 4  G O T ’ and ‘ 2 G D R’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent+, it plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays near excellent, as I did hear some light ‘ticks’ throughout the track ‘Im so tired’ and into the next track ‘Blackbird’, for approximately the first minute of play, otherwise it plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side three and four play near MINT with excellent quiet grooves. The records play with an excellent full, loud period stereo sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: sides one and three are in very good condition, these labels would have been graded higher but there is some signs of a sticker that has been removed. Side two is in near excellent condition. Side four is in excellent condition. As this is a very first issue, two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc.As mentioned side one and three have signs of a sticker that has been removed. Labels two and four are free from any stickers or sticker residue. Each label is free from any pen writing.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
