GENE ALLISON released most of his material on Vee-Jay Records.  These two labels were among the groundbreakers having artists cross the racial lines to record on the same labels.  All Three of these pioneering BLUES artists were members of the early '50s BLUES phenomenon that broke the chains of race radio, clubs and recording/distribution barriers by looking outside of their home markets to cultivate European fans and stir the soul of  millions... from all generations... from all the far-flung corners of the earth... and had a huge impact on the artists, musicians and material of R&R in the genesis of it's birth... created and performed by a multitude of artists who never received fame or fortune but were recognized worldwide by fans and musicians alike as true pioneers of American music.  We all owe a heatfelt 'thanks' to these giants.  I tip my hat in their honor.
