This EXCELLENT 1964 UK 1st MONO pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1230

Both label include the 'Sold in UK...' text, with a 'KT' purchase tax code on the side 1 label.


Matrices: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N

Stamper codes: 7/APP & 1/AMA

Vinyl weight: 151g


Housed in the rarer 'Ernest J. Day' printed front laminated, tri-flipback mono cover.

Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.


CONDITION

Disc: EXCELLENT

This well looked-after disc has received a moderate amount of careful play and is free from any major audible or visual faults.

Both playing surfaces are clean with no noticeable surface marks or wear in strong daylight. Closer inspection beneath halogen light reveals only some harmless wispy paper hairlines from inner-sleeve removal and a sparkling rainbow shine. Audibly, the power and warmth shine through as it should on this early pressing, with just a little low-level vinyl background between tracks and on the delicate 'And I Love Her'. The innermost tracks on both sides have touch of wear but there are no clicks, pops or any other distractions on this cherished copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A strong and clean example of this scarce variant which retains a sparkling high-gloss front panel laminate with no 'thumbnail' wrinkles anywhere. All corners are unbumped and both opening edges are free from any tears or feathering. The unblemished rear panel retains an excellent 'whiteness' and is without any writing or missing paper. There is a little foxing to the edge of the lower flipback, but all are in-place and both seams and the spine are in perfect condition.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Minor storage wrinkling but no writing, tears or seam splits.
