Description
THE BEATLES - 'ABBEY ROAD'
1969 UK 1st PRESSING LP
**W I D E SPINE COVER**
Most UK covers had very 'flat' spines (lower), however this rare variant has a clearly square spine with 'pinched' ends. The disc within this rare variant cover is a first pressing on the UK dark green Apple label: PCS 7088
The side 2 label omits the 'Her Majesty' title.
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the square/'wide' spine.
The rear Apple logo is aligned to the track listing.
Complete with its original white inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 749-2 & YEX 750-1
Stamper numbers: 5/MHA & 5/AMT
Cover: EXCELLENT
A top quality example of this very rare cover.
The panels retain their high-gloss laminates which bear some light wrinkles to the spine and a crease to the lower right corner but no 'thumbnails'.
All four corners are sharp and 'unbumped' with no bruising or wear and the opening edges are completely unworn.
The rear panel is in perfect condition with just a few tiny edge wrinkles but no creases, indentations or marks.
All seams are strong and undamaged and the spine is square, clean and undamaged and its factory 'pinched' ends.
Labels: EXCELLENT
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Clean and bright surfaces bearing just a few light scuffs but no deep or feelable scratches.
100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
The disc plays with some light audible background noise and a few light 'ticks' on side 2 but no distortion or any other faults.
Strict visual & audible gradings under intense direct light & at volume on high-end audio equipment
