1968 UK 2nd PRESS *STEREO* LP
**BLACK FRONT COVER LOGO**
Produced for export/experimental purposes, only a handful of these covers with small black stereo front logos were produced.
This 1968 UK 2nd stereo copy is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3075
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with a black stereo logo
Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 178-3 & YEX 179-3
Stamper numbers: 2/GH & 2/GA
Visual: Side 1 EXCELLENT PLUS Side 2 NEAR MINT
Both side are extremely bright & clean and in stong daylight reveal just a single stylus hairline scratch on side 1 but no other marks or scratches.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some faint inner-sleeve storage/removal paper hairlines but no further wear.
Thick, heavy vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS
This disc has been barely played and as a result, all songs play without groovewear distortion or any other signs of major audible wear.
Apart from a hint of light background on 'Michelle' there is little to fault.
Both run-ins and all bands play extremely quietly & there are no clicks, jumps or any other audible faults anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT
This rare example displays just some very light handling and storagewear but no major faults.
The front panel is very clean with just a few tiny edge wrinkles a single small 'thumbnail' crease to the laminate, but no other wear.
The corners have minor shelfwear but no serious faults. The opening edges have a touch of light wear but no tears or feathering
The rear panel is clean & white with no significant marks or any writing or missing paper.
All flipbacks, both seams and the spine are all clean, intact & undamaged.
Very hard to upgrade this one.
This disc has been carefully audibly graded in its entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
