This NEAR MINT UK 1st STEREO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Gramophone Co...' rim texts
The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label
Earliest possible matrix numbers: YEX 637-1 & YEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 2/GAL & 1/GRR

Housed within a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover

A pristine pair bearing just a small handful of light spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole and just a single one on label 1.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Immaculate 'as new', unmarked deep-gloss playing surfaces which shows just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines and sparkling rainbow shine beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. No need to upgrade this one.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
Unloved by its previous jazz-loving owner who playing it just one or twice, thankfully leaving us with a completely unworn sounding copy. All of the usual 'wear points' e.g. the introduction to 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' & She's Leaving Home', all plays flawlessly. The only factor preventing a MINT audio grade are 3 clicks on 'When I'm 64' and a few light ticks on the piano fade-out of 'A Day In the Life'. Overall this is an outstanding sounding copy which will not disappoint.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
Correctly stored in a clean, non-smoking environment since purchase, this superb example retains a richly coloured, unscratched front panel where the only sign of wear are two 'thumbnail' wrinkles near the front opening edge. All corners are without any heavy bumps or bruising and the opening edges are free from any tears or feathering.
Both panels inside the gatetfold are unworn with just a small 'thumbnail' wrinkle on George's chest
The rear panel bears an unavoidable faint disc impression from storage, but no 'thumbnails' or any other wear
The spine is clean, fully laminated & worded
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with slight toning to the white areas but no writing, tears or seam splits.
Cut-out sheet: MINT
