This NEAR MINT UK 1st UK STEREO pressing dates from the album's release in June 1967, and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 7027

Both labels also include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

There is no purchase tax code is visible around the centre of either label.

Housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover with a 'regular' width spine.

A superb clean & bright set with no more than two of three light spindle marks around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Pristine playing surfaces which sparkle and appear MINT/'as new' in strong daylight with no visible blemishes or wear whatsoever. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a small number of harmless wispy inner-sleeve removal paper hairlines, but no further marking on this spectacular copy, both sides of which lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Play: NEAR MINT

This fabulous sounding copy has clearly been payed only two of three times at most on high-end equipment. As a result the sound throughout is clean & clear with no trace whatsoever of any groove/play wear. Even the delicate introduction to 'Lucy In The Sky..' and the easily worn 'She's Leaving Home' play perfectly. In fact, the only audible flaw I heard during my single careful play-check at volume were two 'ticks' during the final fade of the piano chord on 'A Day In The Life'. This really is a 1st class sounding copy which would be hard to upgrade and will not disappoint.

EXCELLENT +

A fine example of this iconic cover with a rich and vibrant front panel which retains an unworn high-gloss laminate with no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or indeed any other significant traces of wear. The corner are all in great shape with just a minute bruise to the upper right and no more than one or two tiny 'pushes to the rear opening edge only. The inside of the gatefold is flawless, with both flipbacks fully intact and undamaged. The rear panel is clean & vivid with the only blemish being a very thin line of fading towards the spine. The spine itself is clean and readable and its laminate is fully intact and unsplit. All seams of both pockets too are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.
