Description
Welcome...From my own collection, This is The Beatles LP entitled "Songs, Pictures and Stories"...(USA catalog # VJ-1092) released in 1964 on the original Vee Jay label. This mono record is very hard to find with this original 2/3 gatefold cover in this condition. The cover is graded as "VG+" (Very Good Plus) showing some light overall wear, some light ring wear on both sides, a bumped upper right corner and some color loss around the outer edges. The seams and spine are very strong and the cover is very solid. Very presentable! Inside gatefold shows some slight "age" yellowing and a stain in the inner crease at the bottom. There are no rips, tears or writing on the cover. This lp does not include the original inner sleeve. A generic one is included. The vinyl on this one is in "VG" (Very Good) condition visually, showing some scuffs and scratches. The labels have the Vee Jay "brackets" logo on top. ((UPDATE)) This record has NOW been play graded. (Side 1) This side plays pretty nice, but midway through the song "Anna" there is a click that lasts through the song "Chains" and into the very beginning of the song "Boys". (Side 2) Starts off nice with a clean "Please, Please Me, but soon there is noticeable background noise throughout "Baby It's You" moving into some ticks and pops on "Do You Want To Know A Secret and "A Taste Of Honey". Twist and Shout sounds good because it's loud and it overpowers the noise. The vinyl is not in mint condition but is in (VG) audible condition. The cover is in (VG+) condition and is highly sought after by collectors. The trail off markings are that of a true original pressing and the entire package is guaranteed to be authentic. The cover is really the attraction here.
