Description

Beethoven String Quartet No. 13 in B-flat Major, Opus 130.
Budapest String Quartet (Joseph Roismann, violin; Alexander
Schneider, 2nd violin; Istvan Ipolyi, viola; Mischa Schneider,
'cello). Victor scroll label Musical Masterpiece Set M-157
(5-12" "z" shellac, scroll label pressings 8576, 8577, 8588,
8589, 8590). Thrilling debut of the "new" Budapest Quartet
which , for the first time, consisted of 3 Russians with
one Hungarian (Ipolyi) held over from the earlier ensemble.
The Budapesters were the first quartet to play in a compelling
uptempo style  that ushered in the 20th century. This
recording was a favorite of chamber music buffs for more than
a decade. Mint condition. Plain album.
