Description

An original 1st press of Volume 4 on the UK vertigo label. Matrix 1/1. Etching Porkie/Pecko. Please note there is no mention of 'made in england' above the 33 speed on the labels - this is also indicative of 1st press. The heavy set vinyl comes in a gatefold cover printed by Howards with inner photo pages - attached. Please note the the 'VO' catalogue number is mentioned on the rear and there are no track times printed against the track listing in the interior - all of which is completely consistent with 1st issue. We also have the original Vertigo swirl inner from the time and the original inner sleeve which the LP arrived in - date coded '1072'...a matter of weeks from 1st release on 25/09/1972. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this is just the sought of copy you dream about - super light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - but nothing remotely troublesome or that features audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Without a doubt this is THE BEST copy of VOL 4 I've ever auditioned it is getting very close on perfect. The audio is absolutely totally pure there is just no back ground interference at all. We perhaps picked up just a couple of light crackles in a couple of isolated moments - and that is it across the whole album. Even those paired down tracks like CHANGES & SUNRISE play super clean. You just will not find a better playing copy no matter how long and far you look. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In stunning condition, and again, I don't think I've had the pleasure of Vol 4 looking quite this crisp. Out of the box the most impressive attribute is that it feels new - not like a well handled item that is 46 years old!! Those surfaces are lovely and clean and smooth. So, often they have aged or surface marked - this copy just defies belief and is crisp as anything. On the front all we can make out is a couple of super-light handling marks in the 'V' of Vol 4. The rear is in equally impressive form - just clean and crisp. The interior and attached pages are just as well preserved - this copy has not been heavily thumbed or anything. The interior is crisp like it was printed yesterday. Edge wear is super-light for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine is close on perfect... What's not to like? And if all that weren't quite enough...the cover retains absolute perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A stunning specimen.

Inner 1072 (Vg+) Light ageing. One 1 inch side split.
