An original 1st issue of LIB on UK Apple from when the album topped the charts. Matrix 2/3. It is possible to find a 2/2 with the red apple rear - but the 2/3's were introduced around the same time at 1st release - so it is total 'pot luck' what you get. Exhibiting the Red Apple logo this example would have arrived early in the 1st issue release phase. Please note On side 1 label the '1' of track one can be found directly below the I&D of 'Side 1'. It sounds crazy - but this is precisely the design layout of the earliest 1st copies. LIB requires a very clean presentation in my opinion [and only a few copies can properly deliver this]. The vinyl comes housed in an original and very earliest thin spine cover with Red Apple logo. We also have a generic original inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Early copies also arrived in a Apple black inner sleeve - -so in order to continue that very fetching aesthetic I'm including a replica black inner too.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen the very lightest possible use. Look at those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very superficial marks per side - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback without reservation. Don't under estimate this grading on LIB. In my experience LIB is an incredibly fussy record - one of the fussiest by the Beatles. Most copies, even very good looking copies, just will not be able to deliver clean audio into the fussiest moments. I've witnessed a couple of real beauties recently - But this copy really takes the biscuit! It is absolutely remarkable. 'Let It Be and Winding Road' are hard to find playing clean even on good looking copies. But it is a very rare event to hear these tracks play almost perfect throughout. Only on an early copy that has seen the very lightest use do you stand even half a chance of pulling this manoeuvre off. But that's what we have here. A super clean player - ridiculous! Expect nothing more than a couple of light crackles in one isolated spot per side. This is easily the cleanest copy, and consistently clean, player I've EVER witnessed. For someone who is very fussy with audio - this would be worthy of serious consideration. FINAL UPGRADE - absolutely unbeatable.
Cover (Ex) In great condition and the aesthetic of that front image - has been preserved superbly. Nice deep blacks which have not faded - only the very most superficial signs of handling. No laminate lift. No actual creasing. Edge wear is pretty much absent the openings are still nice and sharp. Four pointy corners. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A supremely good original example.
