Original true 1st US Stereo "For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale" promo release alternate pressing with a different longer version of "From a Buick 6" containing an extended harmonica intro. Please take into consideration that the alternate version of the track exists in the Stereo format only. The cardboard cover remains in the original shrink wrap that contains an original "Featuring Like a Rolling Stone" rectangular sticker on the front along with a red "FREE Includes a Striking Portrait Suitable For Framing" round sticker. The bottom left-hand corner of this promotional copy's front cover contains a "For Demonstration Only Not For Sale" white sticker underneath the shrink wrap. Original 1st run cardboard cover with the word "Meaningful" (Phrase: "the subject matter - tho meaningful as it is...") in the liner notes on the back, which was later changed to "Meaningless", and "7" in the bottom right-hand corner meaning that the cover was printed by Modern Album Finishing Co., most likely, in Terre Haute, IN.

This limited edition "For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale" copy contains a portrait-style 9" x 12" poster of Bob Dylan on textured paper as indicated by the red hype sticker, suggesting that the portrait is "suitable for framing". The portrait was included only with the earliest 1st pressing copies and only one day after the album was released Stan Kavan, the vice-president of merchandising and advertising for Columbia Records, wrote to the company's distributors enclosing the portrait and advising that it would be packed "under the shrink wrap on the liner side" of "all copies of your initial shipment as well as reorders for the next few weeks or as long as the supply lasts". Original 1st print Columbia Records Two-Eye "360 Sound" with the "NONBREAKABLE" text below the catalog number CS-9189 (The second release doesn't have the "NONBREAKABLE" banner). 1st Stereo release with the very early unique 1st matrix stampers -1A / -1A. Full matrix numbers: XSM110640-1A o T 7 / XSM110641-1A 3 o P. Original very early 1st pressing Columbia Records Pitman plant pressing as identified by the "P" stamped in the trail-off vinyl.

The cover is in amazing Near Mint Minus condition. I grade the vinyl as Side 1 - Strong Very Good Plus (Almost Excellent Minus) and Side 2 as Very Good Plus. The shiny vinyl has a few light hairlines and scuffs from the inner sleeve with Side 2 having one long hairline, but which cannot be felt with a finger nail and doesn't affect the playback in any way. The vinyl sounds great without any skips, pops or clicks and has only some light occasional background noise, which is most likely just static and will go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. The clean labels are in great Near Mint Minus condition only having some few spindle marks which are visible under a strong light source. The original blue inner sleeve with the Columbia Records logo is in Near Mint condition. The vintage portrait-style poster has been beautifully preserved, in Near Mint Minus condition, and doesn't have any tape residue, pinholes and has never been framed.
