Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have aquired over the past 45 years! I have owned this album for over 45 years and purchased it from new! Initially I only ever played this to record to tape and then it has been stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!Earliest original Clark-Hutchinson 'Retribution' album released in 1970! Very scarce and rare 1st UK pressing features the earliest possible matrix endings and earliest "1" Mother stampers both sides! The vinyl looks and sounds barely played no more than a handful of times only and is graded at near mint! The audio is almost as good as it gets in my opinion! Super vibrant ans a real bass feel only heard like this on the earliest pressings!
The original 1st issued very flimsy cover is also in lovely condition considering that this is nearly 45 years old!
This album is very scarce and very hard to find as a first pressing, especially in this stunning condition!
Hear the complete recording in my player below! Actual recording from this album listed!
Clark Hutchinson was a prog rock group started by Andy Clark and Mitch Hutchinson in th late 60s.
The group released four albums, the most successful being 1970's A=MH². The album combines prog and psych with traditional eastern music and experimental instrumentation. Here’s an awesome track from the album.
Andy Clark and Mick Hutchinson recorded four semi-legendary drug LPs / scatter / raga-blues, between 1969 and 1971.
The first album - Blues - was not released until some time after the band broke up. Its been described elsewhere as “… a great swing ever, blues pump that fits the pattern of early British rock blues, when bands like Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack or Groundhogs began to explore their own new sounds, leaving behind the limitations of the traditional blues form. ” There is some guitar work very well on the subject - as in all albums Clark Hutchinson - but the highlight track for me has to be “The Summer Seems Longer”. Almost ten minutes long, this slow, reflective blues song looks back on a lost time and suggestions in sad mood, annoyed that dominated his last recording, Gestalt.
Mick Hutchinson was - and still is - a talented guitarist who started his career playing in Indian style, with expert tabla Sam Gopal.
Complete with original Decca poly lined record sleeve!
Although he never recorded with Sam Gopal Dream - a young guitarist named Lemmy eventually fulfilled this role - Hutchinson and Gopal played together in 14 hour Technicolour Dream legendary at Alexandra Palace in London in April 1967.
The list of bands that appeared - or intend have appeared - this extraordinary event reads like a who’s who of British psychedelia. Surely the crazy world of Arthur Brown was there, with his brown hair setting fire at one point, and a first incarnation of Gong.

I can barely just see a handful of spider traces only! which indicates that this has hardly been played very (very) rare for an album that is 36 years old!
The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superbe on initial visual inspection, and still retains its sheen from new and indeed looks awesome! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of warping. (please note this vinyl has barely ever been played and (not) been over played at all! Please note! The record plays through absolutely perfectly throughout! There are there no signs of grooveware or distortion! I have played this through track for track and the audio quality is superbe cristal clear and extreemely vibrant! Any light whispy marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only! Importantly No scratches or marks that would cause any loud contant clicks or pops!
The Audio Quality
I have played this track through a couple of times prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system. The audio on this pressing in my opinion is very near, as good as it gets for a very early 1st UK pressing! Even in between tracks there is extreemely minimal noise lovely and quiet! An isolated static type tick/light pop was heard in the right channel only but no constant clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the by this awesome Progressive Rock band ''CARAVAN''! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! top! top! audio throughout!! no loud constant clicks, pops ands certainly no jumps or skips at all! Audio graded near mint throughout!
Hear the complete recording in the player above! Actual recording from the vinyl!
Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! please allow for the odd isolated static tick certainly not consistent throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 43 year old system!
The record sleeve
This is the original stereo Decca poly lined sleeve (no) splits or tares ! Becoming fragile with age only. The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the vinyl
The cover
This is the original 1st UK issue STENOL PRINTED IN ENGLAND Laminated front only gatefold cover. Super glossy apperanc,e In exceptional condition for 43 years old! These original variations are scarce and very hard to find in this condition after 43 years! There are no splits or tears! Just very Light storageware to mention in the form of bottom right light corner bump and light vinyl impression/ring wear/rubbing in the laminate! Amazingly (no) real nasty creases worth mentioning! (very minor light thumb crease only, not really noticable unless you look for them any other creases are minor and again you have to look to notice in my opinion)!! The rear is exceptionally clean and white in my opinion! Any creases or marks you have to look to notice I would grade this cover at least excellent in my opinion!
