Christmas Command Performance 4 disc set for 1945 Armed Forces Radio Service 16"
Up for your consideration is a complete four transcription disc set issued by the War and and Navy Departments. Each disc is 16 inches in diameter. Content is transcribed on all eight sides of the four discs. In 1945, the Armed Forces Radio Service presented to the troops, Series: H-45, a Christmas Command Performance. According to the inscription on one of the sleeves, this performance was intended "for Christmas 1945". Also according to the inscription, you can expect to hear "Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, etc. - everybody!". The pictures provided include an image of the inscription.

The area right outside the labels contains information including the length of time for each side/part. The times listed appear to be cumulative, up to about 1 hour and 45 minutes (part/side 7). The last part/side, part 8 lists about 15 minutes. Why the time starts over for the last part is unknown. So, according to the information on the disc, the entire set plays for about 2 hours. Considering that each part and therefore, each side plays for about 15 minutes, I believe that these discs play at 33RPM.
The discs are in pretty good condition. Labels are in great condition. The only exception is that the fourth and last disc in the set has some very light staining on the back label. As far as the playing areas, out of the 8 sides (4 discs), several have one or a few rubbings. All sides are a tad dusty. The record sleeves are in pretty good condition and very clean. There is slight to moderate tearing at the top and sides of the sleeves. There is a former owners stamp on one of the sleeves. Another sleeve has an inscription, describing the content of the discs. Overall, the set is in very nice condition.
