Description
Conjunto Casino was one of the all time great Cuban conjuntos...Throughout the 1940s and 50s they had the gifted sonero Roberto Faz as well as Patato and many other all stars as part of their line up.
Conjunto Casino "A Bailar Con El" Panart Records LP-2006 High Fidelity A compilation of singles recorded in Cuba in 1954-55 featuring sonero Roberto Faz and Carlos "Patato" Valdés on tumbadora shortly before leaving for NYC.. This is a 1959 release, in the last few months of the soon to be abolished Cuban Tourist Commission. Like many other Cuban companies the Sabat family had offices in NY and or San Juan before the change of government in 1959. High Quality vinyl is made in Cuba by the Cuban Plastics Company. As it was meant for tourists, the record label has title in English, "Let's Dance With The Casino Sextet...however they are a 10 piece horn band. The record jacket is printed in the US and has the NY address of Panart Records. It also has the seal of approval by the Cuban Tourist Commission. Very hard-to-find edition. Front cover is semi-glossy, Black with silver printing Panart label.
Vinyl: excellent no spindle wear I repeat my text from Condition Description above: record is in excellent condition, around 1990 I had one of those magical moments record collectors hope for. While visiting my mother's childhood friend beauty supplies shop in Miami, while they chatted I walked to the back to use the bathroom and saw a rack of LPs--mostly Panart, dime novels and magazines, they were leftovers from when her late hubby sold gifts in the store. I made a great deal to buy about 15 still sealed pre-1959 Cuban music LPs. I played them 1 time to record, and then put them away in my collection where they've been stored for over 25 years. A very hard-to-find LP.

LP jacket has no seam separation, top, side and bottom edges have some visible wear. Front cover shows a bit of minimal rub wear. Back cover also has some rub wear at top and bottom. bottom right corner has visible tag removal damage and a bit of staining. Left bottom corner has the name of my mom's friend written in green ink. photos seen were taken with my cell camera, not the highest resolution, it's actual LP
As a life long record collector, I protect and pack records very well before shipping using a traditional cardboard LP mailer
