HUNKY DORY.
ORIGINAL 1971 WHITE LABEL PROMO.
WITH DISC JOCKEY INFO.
White label Promo`s were distributed by record company`s in tiny numbers.
They would be handed out, to DJ`s that the record company deemed could
promote their artists forthcoming new LP. For that reason they are pressed in
severely small numbers so very highly prised by collectors.
As you can see id you double click the pictures whichever DJ originally owned
this WLP has wrote on the notes Mc Cartney ,Newman, and Biff rose underneath
the track listing for side two obviously because Biff Rose wrote Fill your Heart.
Im guessing the McCartney reference is due to the fact Oh you Pretty things has
many similarities to the Beatles Martha my dear. I cant work out the Randy Newman
comparison. As you can see Eight line poem is missing from the track listing even
though it is present on the LP. This puts a time to this item and proves it pre dates
the general release.
The condition of the LP is VERY GOOD ++ . It plays entirely without slips or jumps
or sticking but there is occasional background noise and it plays 7 out of 10.
A very rare Bowie pressing of one of his most sought after LPs HUNKY DORY
a penny start and NO RESERVE .
Bowie collectors both old and new, keep an eye on my auctions over the
next few weeks. I will be selling some of the rarest David Bowie LPs
ever pressed.
