BYE BYE CITY / UNA VIOLA DEL PENSIERO ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by DINO music directed by TONY MIMMS ORCHESTRA. Original Italian pressing on the RCA ARC label (AN 4189), from 1969. Desirable and seldom heard double-sider by the cult singer. Easily his best and most obscure recording. Features a brilliant, alternative cover of Le Coeur's BYE BYE CITY theme (the French psych anthem comped on Le Beat Bespoke Vol 4). Dino's Italian version has a beautiful intro with strings and emotional lead vocals before switching tempo into an infectious freakbeat garage groove. Great for DJs with cool fuzz distortions / heavy drums / phased backing singers and psychedelic orchestrations. The UNA VIOLA DEL PENSIERO side is also superb. A clever take on Michel Legrand's The Windmills Of Your Mind soundtrack theme but with alternative lyrics sung in Italian / congas / scat chorus and another trippy, tempo-changing arrangement. Dino was the singer of Ho Messo Gli Occhi Su Di Te from Morricone's Menage All'italiana RCA SP 8013 soundtrack. Tony Mimms was the producer / arranger behind the Valeria Mongardini version of American Woman and an I Pyranas studio project recorded the same year. Very rare 45!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M- overall) with a couple of light scuffs and some hairlines. Some light surface noises to intro / outros. Promo ink stamp to one side of label. The picture sleeve is in VG++ condition with light corner wear. Ring dirt marks and creasing from storage (mostly to open side). Some natural age discoloration. Very rare 45!!!
