Hard rock and heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio lived a long and illustrious life. He began his rock career in a band named Elf. Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore had just left Deep Purple and formed a band called Rainbow. Blackmore invited Dio to sing, and the rest is, as they say, history! After Rainbow, Dio joined Black Sabbath, replacing long time vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Two studio albums, and a live album later, RJD left Black Sabbath, then formed his own namesake band. Years later, RJD would rejoin Sabbath. Then back to Dio. Then back to Sabbath, only this time, they used the name Heaven and Hell. (Sharon Osbourne didn't want to confuse fans, as Ozzy was getting ready to rejoin Sabbath. So she insisted on the band, with Dio, calling themselves something OTHER THAN Black Sabbath!) RJD passed away in 2010, after a lengthy battle with cancer. (RIP Dio. You were one of the greatest heavy metal singers that ever lived, as well as an awesome humanitarian.)

In the mid 80s, once the band Dio began to get recognition, a special limited edition white colored vinyl single was released for the song "Rock 'N' Roll Children". They even added TWO live tracks on the B side! On white vinyl, and it comes in its original clear PVC jacket, with hype sticker. Vinyl looks good, but has a few surface marks and light scuffs on it. I cannot vouch for the sound quality, as I never play specialty vinyl, such as pic discs and colored records. But a sweet 80s collectible to have, nonetheless!

Fast forward to 2014, and a pic disc was released, and credited to Dio and Friends. The title is 'Stand Up and Shout' For Cancer, and the songs feature special guests such as Anthrax, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, and Halestorm. (Three tracks each side. A side is the three by other artists, and the B side is three live Dio tracks, sung by Dio.) The A side is a great sketch of the friends of Dio, and the B side is a great shot of Dio himself.

The third item in this Dio listing is a copy of the picture disc for ''Killing The Dragon'', the title track of the TWENTY year old album released in 2002! The title track is on the A side, with that intense artwork, and the B side is the vintage Dio logo, and a live version of "Rainbow in the Dark". Yet another crazy good Dio collectible in this crazy good triple shot!

All three are used. The white vinyl has those flaws as mentioned, and the jacket looks pretty good. The two pic discs are also used but probably never played, as I never play specialty vinyl, such as pic discs or colored records. So not 100% on the sound quality, but I'm sure they sound great, as they are from the modern pic disc era. A great gift idea for that Dio fan in your life, fans of 80s hard rock and heavy metal, or collectors of picture discs. But you can always grab these for your very own, and watch that amazing vinyl collection keep growing, and growing, and growing...Lol
