Description

An original 1st press on the Purple label from '72. Matrix 1/1/1/1 [al the 1's]. Etchings 'Porkie/Pecko etc'."Gramophone" in perimeter text. Noticeably heavy this copy is built to last and has only seen light use. Demand was high at 1st issue and some copies were contracted-out and not pressed by EMI [like this example]. Don't let that put you off - every contract pressing I've ever tested has played as good or better than the EMI ones! They made an extremely good job of the audio. And why would you want to compromise on this all time classic live album? The contract-out copies will show stamper "3" at 9 o'clock and also exhibit a dip in the label. It comes housed in an original gatefold cover with both original inners. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition having seen only lightest use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Playing perfectly clean even into those quieter passages. To do this title you really need to aim for the absolute best copy on the market - and this example will not disappoint. There are some very low-key noodling passages - only a beautifully preserved example will manage these cleanly. And this badboy is VERY clean signalled...which means you get to crank it all the way to 11...without anything annoying in the background. Clean feed all the way. Al I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. And one very minor tick on the uber quiet intro to Child In Time. One minor solitary tick early side 4. An absolute belter of a copy. Lazy live is absolutely amazing. Listen those individual hand claps in the crowd. Wait for the hi-pitch organ/synth to whir in against a perfectly quiet background. Listen to some incredible riffola by Blackmore.  By all means try and look for better - but I seriously doubt you'd be able to find it at this price level [or at any price level for that matter!].
Cover (Vg/Vg+) In nice condition with slight ringwear observable and a couple of blemishes front and back. A small nick bottom right on the opening [no issue tape secured internal]. Interior looks superb. Firm openings and only light edge wear in most places. Text on spine is 100% intact - the usual fold down the middle which is unavoidable. The cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Couple of blemished. One side split taped up.
