Description

Der Ring Des Nibelungen Box Set - Georg Solti conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

This is a 'Limited Edition' Box Set housed in a Wooden Casket. 

It contains the complete famous 'Solti' Ring Cycle + Introduction on 22 Decca LP's.

This set is rare and hard to find & is a unique collector's item.

It looks like it is unplayed, there are no spindle marks on the LP's, some still have the little Vinyl slivers round the spindle indicating it has never been played & Act 3 of Die Walkure is untouched, this is always a good test.

The Casket is Gold embossed & the LP's are colour coded to match the booklets.

The Casket has 5 pullout compartments each housing one of the following:

1) An Introduction to Der Ring Des Nibelungen by Deryck Cooke the well known Ring expert(3LP's) + 42 page LP size illustrated booklet.

2) Das Rheingold.(3LP's) + 35 page LP size illustrated booklet containing Introduction/Synopsis/Libretto.

3) Die Walkure.(5LP's) + 46 page LP size illustrated booklet containing Introduction/Synopsis/Libretto.

4) Siegfried.(5 LP's) + 42 page LP size illustrated booklet containing Introduction/Synopsis/Libretto.

5) Gotterdammerung.(6 LP's) + 40 page LP size illustrated booklet containing Introduction/Synopsis/Libretto.
