Description

An original 1st issue of D&D Layla on the UK Polydor label from winter 1970/71 [whilst still charting]. Matrix A1/B2/A1/B2 - the first known cut. The vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover. Please note the cover is genuine 1st issue without any Polydor logo on the front to spoil the artwork. Also are included are BOTH original inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly/predominantly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A really top-level rendition which delivers these tracks with such aplomb you'll be hard pressed to leave it alone! Even the quite sections play lovely and clean. 'I Am Yours' is difficult to find playing clean. This track plays great with just a few isolated crackles and one light tick....much better than you tend to find. "Thorn Tree"..another tricky track plays perfect...so so revealing with amazing clarity. Overall a top-level player that you would struggle to equal let alone better.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In impressive condition and has been really cared for down the years. Very very nice clean front and back with barely a crease and only minimal signs of wear. This title normally exhibits a bit of ageing or ringwear, but this example is a cut above what usually surfaces and looks pristine. At worst just the lightest touch of wear at the opening on the rear. The interior looks great - literally like new. Edge wear is borderline non-existent and the openings are still sharp. The spine is well preserved nigh on perfect and all the text is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. What a specimen!
Inners (Ex) Lightest ageing. No markings or splits.
