Description

An original 1st press of D&D Layla on the UK Polydor label from 1970. Matrix A1/B2/A1/B2. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover. Please note the cover is genuine 1st issue without any Polydor logo on the front to spoil the artwork. Also included are two original plastic bag warning inner sleeve from the time.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side, and what looks like a smudge on side 1 - but nothing remotely troublesome, or that vaguely features in the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All could we detect was a touch of light static briefly in a couple of tracks [e.g. Tell The Truth]..Other than that we are talking about a very impressive clean rendition.
Cover (Ex) In truly great shape and way better than many examples that surface. Lovely clean front cover with just a couple of light indentations and no creasing at all. The rear looks very nice too with just light handling wear. The interior is in pretty much perfect condition. Edge wear is very light for this tile - the openings are still sharp. The spine is in great condition with all text legible - just a light crease running down it as you will find on all copies. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely specimen.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing at the extremities. And I can only find one 1 inch side split.
