Description

An original 1st press of LAYLA on UK Polydor from 1970. Matrix A1/B2-A1/B2 [1st cut]. Please note the earliest copies have flat labels - there's no ridging. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover.
Vinyl (Ex) In super condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. A beautiful player - by and large very nice and clean. When on song it's an absolute banger! I detected a few crackles in the background of 'I Am Yours'. This is probably the fussiest track on the whole album - and very very difficult to avoid entirely. Nothing invasive at all - it just won't play as darn clean as the rest of the LP. One tick as 'Looked Away' closes out [no problem]. If you need a quality high end audio copy this example should more than suffice.
Cover (Ex-) Lovely clean and flat front and rear. Pretty impressive as it's unusual to find front and rear with hardly any surface wear. There doesn't seem to be any light fade either - and barely a crease. The interior is superb - no issues at all. Some slight edge wear in places - but not that much. Grading it down just a touch as the openings have a bit of wear [not bad]. The spine is in excellent order with minimal wear and text all legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine specimen.
