Extremely hard to find psych/prog crossover album with stunning songcraft, a lost classic!!! Bandmembers: Dave Arbus, Geoff Nicholson, Andy Sneddon, Geoff Britton. Very heavy vinyl in EX. An original first UK press as indicated by the machined matrices.
East of Eden was a British progressive rock band, who had a Top 10 hit in the UK with the single, "Jig-a-Jig", in 1971. The track became something of a stylistic albatross around the band's neck, since it did not resemble their usual sound or anything else they normally played. Although some might consider this group as being a symphonic progressive band, others state that their style is more jazz oriented. Combining flutes, violins and tape loops to folk, gypsy and psychedelic eastern tinged music, the East of Eden style was always heavily supported on a pure progressive rock base; strong and experimental.
Vinyl: EX. I have played this in full> There are NO jumps, NO clicks and NO sticks!!! Under a strong light a few very wispy hairlines but these cannot be heard on replay. Some paper retraction traces under a strong light. NO marks or deep scratches. Sometimes light static can be heard, mainly between the tracks in the silent grooves. The audio is stunning all the way and this album sounds fantastic and was totally underrated at the time. It totally went under the radar and is now extremely scarce!! A strong EX. An upgrade for most collectors.
Sleeve: VG++. Front laminated. No stickers, NO writing, NO smudges. A very thin flimsy sleeve that is in far better than average shape. Light creasing mainly near the opening and corners and some light underlaminate creasing. Still a very nice sleeve without any seam splits or damage. To the rear there is the little die-cut stereo/ mono peep hole. No discernable ring wear visible to the rear which of course is not laminated. This will make a great addition to a prog collection.
