ELVIS PRESLEY For LP Fans Only 1959 RCA 1st Press 1S/1S LPM-1990 Mystery Train
Released in February 1959 while Elvis was stationed in West Germany with the U.S. Army, For LP Fans Only served as RCA's answer to keeping the King's name in front of the public with no new recordings available. Rather than filler, they delivered something essential — ten tracks drawn from Elvis's mid-'50s peak, including four songs from his legendary Sun Records sessions that had never before appeared on 12" vinyl.
Side 1 opens with "That's All Right," the record that started everything at Sun Studio in 1954. "Mystery Train" closes it — Junior Parker's haunting blues transformed into a rockabilly freight train by Elvis, Scotty Moore, and Bill Black. The Sun tracks alone make this LP worth having. The RCA sides round it out with "Lawdy, Miss Clawdy," "Shake, Rattle and Roll," "My Baby Left Me," and "I Was the One" — B-sides and non-album tracks that hadn't been collected anywhere before this release.
This is an original U.S. first pressing on RCA Victor, released February 6, 1959. First lacquer cut on both sides — 1S/1S — with mother A, stamper 2 on Side 1. As early as this pressing gets.
Black label with silver print, "New Orthophonic" High Fidelity designation, Nipper and gramophone logo, Camden, N.J. on the rim — correct in every detail for the original issue. This copy carries the scarcer "Long Play" label designation — the earlier of the two original label variants for this title, pressed at the Camden plant.

— Front and back intact with expected corner and edge wear for a 65-year-old original pressing. "FOR LP FANS ONLY" RCA Victor banner present upper right of back cover. Army photo front cover presents well.
Inner Sleeve: EX
— Original RCA Victor inner, "The World's Greatest Artists Are On RCA Victor Records" with Nipper logo. Some handling wear and creasing consistent with age.
