This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

 GORGEOUSLY shiny vinyl.
I gave her a gentle professional clean om my Pro-Ject VC-S MkII Vacuum Record Cleaner and then played her all the way through on my Focus One Deck...W-O-W, the audio was simply SUPERB!
There were some wonderful stand-out moments with the piano being beautifully crisp on Ob La Di (with some instuments I hadn't even noticed before!!) and a crisp and clean birdsong on Blackbird, moving on to a deep bassy start of Piggies. An absolute joy to listen to!
Visually I can see a VERY light line to side 1 and a couple of small scuffs to side 2 with sides 3 & 4 having insignificant light wispy marks when angled towawrds the light...Each not affecting audio playback in any significant way.
All of the tracks play through with rich clarity, with the transitions being wonderfully quiet as well..Even the run-ins and outs are as close to silent as you could wish for!
I noticed a couple of very light and soft background pops in the transition from While My Guitar Gently Weeps, into Happiness is a Warm Gun as well as a light and brief bit of faded background crackle at the end of Mother Natures Son...But they really were insignificant.
I also noticed A LOT of different sounds on Revolution 9...WOW; it really gave me more insight into the work which must have been put in to get this down!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
It was a hard descision as to which track to record-as they all sound fantastic...But I settled on Blackbird.
EACH RECORD IS AS FLAT AS THE DAY SHE WAS BORN.


The labels:

 All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
With just a handful of incredibly light spindle marks-visible only when angled towards the light and really looking for them! Minimal hole wear to each label.

Each label has the "Sold In U.K..." text.

"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels-on the one line, rather than the later editions, where it is split on two lines.
Side 1 & 4 has a small 'colin' to the label...See if you can spot it on the side 1 label-I only just managed when angled towards the light.

"An EMI Recording" printed to each side BUT without the brackets!

 It is the first run TOP loading with a great shine to her.
The laminate has only around 4 small crescents of spidering to the front and back panels, with just a couple of tiny fingers of spidering emanating from the edges-nothing at all to worry about.
Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold.
The spine remains beautifully strong, without any lifting.
Has the printing of Stereo to the back top right.
S-U-P-E-R-B
Light rubbing/knocking to the corners through shelf storage, with the top right corner of the front panel having a line of spidering.
AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

Excellently strong Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold with equally strong and CLEAN flipbacks.

Inners:

 Original WHITE inners.
They are both all original with the die-cut corners.
They have each survived the years incredibly well!
 There is just some light wear and slight discolouration to them....One has an age spot to the centre of one side.
Both have the earliest "MADE IN ENGLAND" statement-which later changed to 'Made in Great Britain'
VERY, VERY NICE INDEED.
SO HARD TO FIND SUCH DELICATE INNERS IN GREAT SHAPE.

The 4 ORIGINAL pictures are present (John, Paul, George & Ringo).
They have been kept in simply TOP condition!!
NO rips or tears
NO writing or pin holes.
When angled towards the light I saw there are some VERY light few age spots-but again-nothing offensive at all.

It is a FANTASTIC poster, with lyrics printed to the back and kiss to the front...As well as the naked McCartney behind a pole...They later added some underwear to this picture!
NO writing.
Bright white and in SUPERB condition.

WOULD DISPLAY INCREDIBLY WELL.
One of the best examples I have come across in a VERY long time.
