HOLD UP / NATHALIE ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by FRANCO MICALIZZI. Original Italian pressing on the CAROSELLO label (CI 20384), from 1974. Obscure Italian soundtrack featuring superb mood music from the cult poliziottesco / poliziotteschi / giallo crime thriller, Hold-up Istantanea Di Una Rapina. A film directed by Germàn Lorente starring Nathalie Delon / Enrico Maria Salerno and Frederick Stafford. For us, easily one of the best double-siders with that sleazy mid '70s Italian lounge sound. Haunting scat vocals / manic fuzz distortions and orchestrations with lo-fi boom bap / hip hop-esque drums on HOLD-UP. Comped on Italia Violenta Vol 1. The NATHALIE side is even better. A perfect example of youthful carefree bossa lounge with a filmic sleazy undercurrent favoured by Cinecitta at the time. Lovely flute solos with spinettte / harpsichord and groovy rhythms. Most copies are usually trashed so very tricky to find in top condition. Seldom comes up for sale. Rare OST 45!!!

 Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Light surface noises (more so on 'Nathalie' theme). Some old, faded, cloudy pressing stains to both sides. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with very light wear. Some creasing from storage. Rare OST 45!!!
