Fleetwood Mac 1969 to 1972
Fleetwood Mac was an amazing blues based rock band long before Mr. Lindsay Buckingham and Ms. Stevie Nicks joined up in1975. This box set sets the story straight with the first four titles released in the U.S. by Reprise (Fleetwood Mac had released 3 albums in England prior).
Then Play On A Peter Green driven opus featuring “Rattlesnake Shake,” “Coming Your Way” and “Oh Well” (which is included in the box set as the bonus single. The track was added to the album in later pressings).
Kiln House Peter Green exited the band after Then Play On and the remaining members explore early American rock & roll while still performing some great contemporary rock and rock ballads. John McVie’s wife, Christine, contributes for the first time, without being a named member.
Future Games By the time Future Games is released, Jeremy Spencer had been replaced by Bob Welch and Christine McVie had been added as an official member. She contributes with songwriting and as both a lead vocalist as well as background vocals. “Morning Rain” and “Future Games” are standout tracks.
Bare Trees It’s amazing this album didn’t do better in its day. It would be the last album to host Danny Kirwan, who would depart the band during the months touring the album, despite contributing the title track. The album is a group effort with great songs, great jams and gives a glimpse of what was to come in later years.
