who began in mid-60's in Cincinatti, has been a time produced by Chas CHANDLER, then stayed until today in France. He has been a time the singer of DYNASTIE CRISIS. Then he made few records under his name (adding a time "and the Soul Company"), and more recently sang also in publicity and great popular soundtracks. He is still often playing live his high voltage soul.
In late sixties he was beside his friends Eddie BARCLAY and Brigitte BARDOT in their St-TROPEZ nights, and BARCLAY made him record on his label, with excellent musicians.
This test pressing was made just before the Barclay-Bardot SP BLY 642002 "Isn't wonderful"/"Love me", and we have not found a trace of it as an issued record. It is very sad because the music and singing is almost as exciting as this last one, similar in spirit but somewhat different in instrumentation. The fast freak & funky track ("A woman is a woman" ?) combines hyper-nervous drumming with supersonic rythmic by electric piano (organ ?) & guitar together, close to "Love me" in BLY 642002 but with big vibes lines on front (then piano), and female chorists — all close to the best of french library soul-jazz musicians playing and arrangements, here perhaps some people of E. BARCLAY's orchestra. The other side, a very nice mid-tempo soul ballad, gives the same impression of library/jazz musicians playing in pop-mambo-soul club style, in this case a (superlative) piano in Hank JONES' style, a bongo and a bass, the singer's voice getting echoed at the end. Needless to say, great soul singing, before all !
If as we suppose this SP was (incomprehensibly) unissued, two great 60's dance tracks have been lost.

RECORD CONDITION : VG+ (mostly EX or better, barely played, 1 light single crack and very light single ticks on B-side /// nice surface with rare light re-sleeving scuffs)
