GORDON JACKSON - 'SING TO ME WOMAN'/'SONG FOR FREEDOM'

1969 UK 2-SIDED APPLE STUDIOS 7" STEREO ACETATE

**EXCEPTIONAL & RARE TRACKS**

Both of the following tracks on this acetate were recorded at Apple Studios, 3 Savile Row, London in 1969.

'Song For Freedom' - Features Gordon Jackson's acoustic intro & combines a fantastic rhythm section powered by the congas of Rocky Dzidzorni with Jim Capaldi's drumming & Dave Mason's distinctive bass. Backing vocals are provided by Julie Driscoll (of Brian Auger and The Trinity) & the tenor sax and organ are played by Chris Wood and Poli Palmer respectively.

'Sing To Me Woman' - An all-out rocker highly characteristic of this period. Again with a powerful acoustic intro, the record features electric guitar from Dave Mason and a good saxophone solo from Chris Wood. The track was apparently composed during a late-night jam session and has a great "live" feel to it.

Both the abovementioned songs are presented on this 2-sided, 7" stereo Apple Studios acetate dating from 1969.
Both sides carry genuine green & white Apple Custom Recording' labels.

The label features a handwritten title, singer's name & 'STEREO' togerher with the cutting intstructions 'add a bit of bass & mid lift' on 'Song For Freedom & 'add a bit of mid lift' on 'Sing To Me Woman'. 'To be edited shorter' is also written on both labels.
