This beautiful LP – a fine collector’s copy – from The Haydn Society (HS-9029, US pressing, green/silver label, mono – no stereo edition exists) features conductor Maurice Hewitt leading his eponymous Chamber Orchestra in superlative renditions of Bach's Orchestral Suites No. 3 in D Major BWV 1068 and No. 4 in D Major BWV 1069, stylish performances set down in Paris in 1952 and boasting many of the leading French players of the day.

There are informative liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Karl Geiringer, provided in English only. The striking cover design was executed by Alvin Lustig.

CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. Aside from minor bumping at corners and mild shelfwear, the album appears almost as new. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a fine collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
