Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room. This week’s auctions feature my progressive and psychedelic records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare 1st U.K. pressing of Ian Matthews – If You Saw Thro’ My Eyes on the SWIRL VERTIGO label, cat. no. 6360 034, with BIG SWIRL logo on side B.
The record is in VG+ condition, there are some non-sounding hairlines and a few non-sounding, but visible marks and lines. The labels are in VG++ condition, there are some spindle marks.
The cover is in VG to VG+ condition, there is a very tiny sticker tear mark just next to the Vertigo logo in the upper right hand corner on the front that has been coloured-in, the spine has some bald spots and there is some slight handling wear along the opening edge. Besides mentioned defects, this cover looks very presentable to me. Unfortunately the original Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve is missing.
Although not in a dream Mint condition, this first U.K. pressing of the first Vertigo album by Ian Matthews is becoming very scarce these days and this copy still plays great (at least Excellent minus). Further it is worth mentioning that Sandy Denny, his former band mate at Fairport Convention, shared the vocals with Ian on the title track and played piano and harmonium on some other tracks on this album. This record is a real must have if you are an Ian Matthews, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, folk music fan or a Vertigo Swirl record collector! Happy Bidding!
