'This is the indianapolis pressing variant, as indicated by "I" stamped in runouts
Includes double sided lyric insert (folded 61x30 cm). The lyric insert contains songwriting credits with lyrics on one side, a poem "What You Can Do With The Bag" on the other.
External packaging includes a custom-size brown paper bag, similar to grocery store quality. The bag folds to gatefold size (12-inch by 24-inch, approximately). One side of the bag matches the "JA" image shown with this release, the other side of the bag contains track listing, track credits, and reproduced hand-drawn caricatures of some of the musicians.

Very rare in this condition. Although I have listed as excellent, it's truly near mint and has spent it's life in correct storage. Awesome condition.
Vinyl has no issues.

I will supply a new poly lined inner sleeve and clear album cover (not that it's needed!).
It will be packed securely in a quality mailerand stiffeners used appropriately with the disc safely removed from sleeve outer and associated inserts. All will be carefully packed. Although I've quoted for standard postage/shipping, I'm happy to send any way the buyer asks, cost permitting.

Bark is the sixth studio album by Jefferson Airplane. Released in 1971 as Grunt FTR-1001, the album is one of the Airplane's late-period works, notable for the group's first personnel changes since 1966. The album was the first without band founder Marty Balin(who departed the band during the recording process but without featuring in the sessions) and the first with violinist Papa John Creach. Drummer Spencer Dryden had been replaced by Joey Covington in early 1970 after a lengthy transitional period in which both musicians had performed with the band
Bark was the Airplane's first new album in two years, the previous being 1969's Volunteers. It was the first release on Grunt Records, launched in August 1971 by the band and RCA as an autonomous imprint for Jefferson Airplane-related releases.
Lead guitarist Jorma Kaukonen received four songwriting credits on the album, indicative of his growing importance as a composer and vocalist. At the time, he and bassist Jack Casady had already recorded two albums for their spin-off blues rock group Hot Tuna.
The album reached #11 on the Billboardalbum chart (outperforming both Volunteersand Kantner's Hugo Award-nominated 1970 solo album Blows Against the Empire) and was certified gold by RIAA. An accompanying single, the Covington-led "Pretty as You Feel", was the band's final Top 100 American hit, peaking at #60 in Billboard and #35 in Cashbox.
The original vinyl LP release featured an outer paper bag with the "JA" logo as though it were bought in a grocery store. The "JA" logo is an homage to the A&P supermarket chain. The bag was wrapped around the record, which was also inside paper. Inside the bag itself was a cardboard cover for storing the record, that featured a fish with human false teeth wrapped in paper and tied with string. Also inside the bag was a lyrics sheet insert, colored as pink "butcher paper". The paper bag became the cover art for the CD releases, and the fish image appeared on the CD itself.
