1st UK MONO pressing on the PINK Island "Eyeball" Label ILP 985

Some general remarks: A really rare one! This is the very first MONO pressing of Tull's debut from 1968 and it is in fantastic condition.
I grade my records on top notch equipment, using the expensive Lyra Kleos MC-cartridge. It reveals everything from any Vinyl which sometimes can be a curse, especially with 40+ year old records. When I grade a record as Excellent, I am pretty sure many other sellers would not hestitate to call it Near Mint. When I give a record the "Near Mint" grading it is practically flawless. I am collecting Vinyl since 35+ years and own hundreds of records from the day they came into the shops.
The Vinyl: NEAR MINT with the exception of a few seconds on the very beginning of "Song for Jeffrey" - please read the description.
Held up into strong light I can see a few superficial hairlines. The surface is clean and shiny. Playback is loud and strong. There is only one very short area at the beginning of "Song for Jeffrey" where I can hear a swishy noise on the left hand channel for a few seconds. I examined the area with a spyglass but I could not detect anything suspicious, the groove is straight and clean. Presumably it is a small imperfection coming from the pressing Matrix but I have no second copy to compare. The Vinyl sits flat on the turntable.
The Labels: NEAR MINT
The laminated Gatefold-Sleeve: EXCELLENT(+)
This is the original first sleeve made of 2 pieces and the outer piece flips over the inner (see picture). They made the spine very wide (approx. 6 mm) and when the Gatefold is closed you can see a few milimeters of the right hand inner (see picture). Only the very first pressings had this sleeve. It is extremely well preserved with only very mild edge rubbing in the upper third of the spine. A few small laminate bubbles. No splits and only a few very small laminate creases.
Original Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT+
No rips or tears, very clean, just the mildest yellowing from age around the edges.
If you ever intended to own a TRUE FIRST PRESSING of this gem in nearly flawless condition: don't let this one pass by.

I pack my records professionally in stiff record mailers leaving the Vinyl (housed in Nagaoka anti-static bags) outside the Sleeve.
