Stunning Original Mega Rare Withdrawn 'Puppet Sleeve' 1970 UK **EX** 1st Pressing 'Band of Gypsys' by Jimi Hendrix on UK 1st Press 'Matt Textured' Track Record Labels with 1st Press A^1  B=1 Matrix and Legendary 'Withdrawn' MacNeill Sleeve !!! This Rare Record is in Absolutely Stunning Condition Throughout!!!

Extremely rare only as a genuine first pressing and including the withdrawn ‘Puppet’ cover. This was not available for very long and when reissued, the cover was changed entirely making this one of the most sought after Hendrix albums ever issued. The famous ‘Puppet’ cover is a much prized, cherished and collectable item from the legend that was Jimi Hendrix. A fragile item also, those that do surface are often in very poor, even badly damaged condition. Incredibly prone to price sticker pulls and severe damage from their removal, this is a trait more often seen than not. Clean copies with little to fault are genuinely rare and most are locked away in valuable collections and seldom seen or offered. This one has little more than a few light surface creases and is without doubt, one of the most attractive I have yet seen. The two round stickers may be peelable but I have not made any attempt at it. I strongly believe that period stickers add to the character of a collectable LP, a bit like the patina of an old antique piece of furniture.

The album title on the labels was incorrectly spelled.

A MAGNIFICENT EXPERIENCE THAT MUST HAVE BLOWN MANY MINDS AWAY BACK IN 1970 WHEN THE MAJORITY OF EQUIPMENT USED RUINED ANY COPY WITHIN JUST A COUPLE OF PLAYS.DON'T FORGET THOSE PARTIES WHERE SUCH LPs WERE PLAYED AND ENDED UP LEFT LYING AROUND WITHOUT A COVER OR ON A TURNTABLE TO WARP AND ATTRACT DUST AND DIRT,SPILLAGES,SCUFFS,SCRATCHES etc etc.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. Rarer even than Pawn Hearts on the Scroll label. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find. I have twentyfive years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

 Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks. Light static here and there easily overpowered by the quite incredible audio,  this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl. Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled there are only a few light hairlines.

Vinyl:  EX to EX+.  A sensational find and a phenomenal vinyl!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is JUST GREAT!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Only two wispiest hairlines  can be seen under a strong lightsource. This is the best vinyl I have ever seen of this album. Most are in quite a state and it's really hard to find this classic album in anything better than a VG condition. This just fits the bill and is a graet upgrade!!!High groovewalls ensure a terrific listening experience. Fantastic songcraft!  Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips etc.

 Sleeve: VG+.  A nice matt sleeve by MacNeill Press!!! Impossible to find without some degree of wear. This sleeve will wear by simply looking at it. This has moderate wear  to the edges. Please look at the pics. The spine is partly legible. Two round catalogue stickers, one to the front and one to the back. NO splits, NO tears.
