Description
This is a fine copy from a 1985 reissue of the sole LP by Portland, Oregon, garage-psych group the Lollipop Shoppe, originally released in 1968. Originally known as the Weeds, the group changed their name at the behest of their manager to try to cash in on the then-popular bubblegum music craze. It's clear from the single drawn from the LP, the ripping album opener "You Must Be a Witch" (which was later included on the eighth volume of the Pebbles series), however, that the group was no bubblegum act. This pressing, the first to reissue the LP in any format, adds both sides of the post-LP single "Someone I Know"/"Through My Window" as bonus tracks. (It omits the group's contribution to the 1968 biker film soundtrack Angels from Hell.) The jacket is close to M- with a little light creasing along the spine and seams (EX+). The disc is clean, and plays with minimal surface noise -- a strong M-.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
